AEC Wins Second Innovision Technology Award

Automation Engineering Corporation is pleased to announce that it has won the 2007 InnoVision Award for Technology Application. This is AEC’s second InnoVision award, the first being won in 2002 in the Small Enterprise category.

The InnoVision award recognizes AEC for development of the JOEY packaging machine. JOEY is an innovative, high-speed, Vertical Form Fill Seal machine. Its modular design allows a single machine to be easily converted to run a wide variety of products and pouch sizes. The results are high-speed operation, more rapid changeover, less waste, and less downtime.

First introduced in August of 2007, JOEY is expected to have sales of $2,000,000 in the first year and $8,000,000 over the next five years.

Automation Engineering won the InnoVision Award for Small Enterprise in 2002 for the AEC Webmeter. The AEC Webmeter helps companies monitor and manage electrical usage. The system is able to notify users in the event that a system or company is going to set a new peak electrical usage. When a company sets a new peak, utility companies charge for infrastructure upgrades that can cost companies ten of thousands of dollars. The AEC Webmeter gives a company the opportunity to reduce consumption to avoid this peak, and the associated costs.
