AUTOMATION ENGINEERING AWARDED MULTI-MILLION DOLLAR CONTRACT TO SUPPLY HYDROSTATIC TESTER FOR TUBE AND PIPE INDUSTRY
Greenville, SC – January 5th, 2010 – The New Year is starting off with a bang for Automation Engineering Corporation (AEC) with a multi-million dollar contract to supply test equipment to a U.S. pipe producer. This contract is the largest order for testing equipment in the tubular goods industry for AEC and represents significant momentum to become a leading supplier of finishing equipment for U.S. pipe producers.
“We’re excited to work with our new customer in this expanding market,” said Matt Ferguson, Sales Manager at Automation Engineering, “This order represents a huge step toward servicing the domestic tube and pipe market as well as reassurance of continued stability in this difficult economy”.
The domestic tube and pipe market has been depressed along with the other economic segments for the past two years. Tariffs on imports from China are boosting U.S. supplier’s anticipation of recovery. This order exceeds the total revenue of tubular goods equipment sold by Automation Engineering in all of 2009.
A hydrostatic tester pressurizes pipe with water and verifies it will withstand pressures to meet regulatory specifications for petroleum, water service, and construction industries. AEC’s high speed, multi-lane, all-electric machine coupled with state-of-the-industry product tracking and traceability have separated AEC test equipment from competing offerings.
