Hydrostatic Tester

Overviewht_tester_for_web

To meet certain ASTM and API requirements, manufacturers of steel pipe must hydrostatically test their product. Our customer required testing to ASTM A53, A135, and A795 of 0.5 to 4 NDS from 17' to 34' length. In addition to hydrostatically testing pipe, the customer required automatic descrambling, transporting, flushing, and sorting. Complete pipe marking and traceability for each tested pipe was also required.

AEC's Solution

A 6-position hydrostatic test line was designed and built to meet the customer's requirements. During any single cycle, 6 pipe were both flushed (to remove ID scarf) and hydrotested. The pipe was contained at all times via clamping.

  • Descramble
  • Transport
  • Flush
  • Hydrostatic Test
  • Sortation, bad pipe sent to reject pocket
  • Accumulation for drain and bundling
  • ID Test Head - Does not mark OD of pipe
  • 0.5'' - 4'' NDS
  • Exceeds 400 pcs/hr
  • One operator required for operation
  • Pipe test data traceability
  • Recipe driven
  • No oil hydraulics

AEC can supply a hydrotester to meet your exact specifications.
