Live at the Show: The Hybrid Manufacturing Cell

At IMTS, AEC will debut its new Hybrid Manufacturing Cell, a FANUC robot-based platform that combines precision milling, metal additive manufacturing, and automated inspection in a single flexible system. It’s the first time this platform has been shown publicly.

The cell integrates a FANUC industrial robot with a Meltio Direct Energy Deposition (DED) laser head and an automatic changeover to a High-performance milling spindle, allowing manufacturers to transition seamlessly between additive and subtractive processes without repositioning the workpiece.
